Navoriqa

California Caregiver Help

Caring for an older adult or family member in California can mean navigating several programs, agencies, and care options at the same time. Navoriqa helps families understand what may be relevant and what practical steps to consider next.

Topics Navoriqa can help you navigate include:

IHSS, Medi-Cal, in-home care, respite, senior services, caregiver support, care transitions, and local programs across all 58 California counties.

Start with your situation, not the system

Families often do not know which program or agency they need. You may simply know that a parent is no longer safe alone, that caregiving has become too much for one person, that someone is coming home from the hospital, or that you need help finding support nearby.

Navoriqa is designed to start with what is happening in your family and help organize the next steps around the person's needs, available care, and relevant public and community resources.

California care guidance across 58 counties

Care resources can differ by county. Navoriqa combines federal, California statewide, and county-level information so families can look beyond general advice and identify support that may be relevant where they live.

Why Navoriqa exists

Navoriqa was created by Katsuhiko Saito, a care worker and care-technology developer in Japan. His caregiving story was featured in a special project produced by The Asahi Shimbun, where he discussed his goal of helping create a society in which caregivers do not face care in isolation.

That same idea guides Navoriqa: helping families understand complicated care systems and find a practical way forward.
